Definition: Export Log File is a feature that allows the user to export log file data into a comma separated text (CSV) format that is readable by programs like Microsoft Excel® for post processing or storing logged data.
How to: Export a Log File:
| • | Click on Log (located in the Menu Bar at the top of the screen) |
| • | Click on Export Log File |
| • | An Export dialog will appear (see below). Select parameters from the parameter list located on the left side of the dialog by selecting a parameter and clicking the "Add" button. The parameter will show up in the "Data sources to export" list on the right side of the dialog |
| • | Continue this operation until you have selected all of the parameters you wish to export |
| • | If you would like to export all of the available parameters, click the "Add all" button and all of the parameters will be included in the export. |
| • | Execute the Export by clicking the "Export" button at the bottom of the dialog |
| • | A file with your log file name and an ".csv" extension will written to the hard disk. |

Note: All dashboard parameters are stored in the log file when logging. This is true regardless of the parameters that are being monitored on the dashboard or the charts.
Note: When exported, parameter names will be exported in columns while the data itself will be exported into rows. Refer to Microsoft Excel® help for details about opening CSV files and creating charts.
